Welcome to Janice Williams' Austin

This site is your portal to the Texas Country Music Scene. A daily listing of the gigs around the Austin area by country, Americana, folk, and a few other indefinable kinds of music.  I hope you discover some new artists and new venues and you go out and support live music tonight!

If you just happened upon this site, I am Janice Williams and I have been in Austin almost 9 years.  I am a recovering disc jockey and have said the name "Janice Williams" on the air a couple of million times. Now I am discovering that if I want people to search or Google "Janice Williams" and find this site, the words Janice Williams need to be on here more often. So, forgive what appears to be ego which is really just, well, self-aggrandizement.

Did you see the line-up for this year's ACLFest?  It comes up the last weekend of September this year (they always work it around UT having an away game) and the Foo Fighters and Robert Plant and Allison Krauss are the headliners. The full line-up came out today and can be found here at the Statesman.  Just a quick glance and I see Kevin Fowler and the Belleville Outfit and Asleep at the Wheel (for their 7th appearance out of 7 ACLs). Robert Earl, Bonnie Bishop, the South Austin Jug Band and a few others of our kind of music, but none that you can't see more easily and more cheaply year 'round. But, if you like the experience of ACLFest, it's there for you.
